About the Temple
A Spiritual Landmark Rising in Surat
The BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, the same visionary organization behind Akshardham temples in Delhi, Gandhinagar, and the world’s largest Hindu temple in Robbinsville, USA, is now building a grand new temple in Surat’s Kanad area. This is not just a temple. It is a center of peace, culture, devotion, and community for generations to come.
Thousands of volunteers and master artisans are shaping this complex stone by stone. Even mid-construction, the sheer scale and divinity of the site is awe-inspiring. When complete, Surat Akshardham will become one of the most significant spiritual landmarks of South Gujarat.

When will Surat Akshardham open?
The Pratishtha Mahotsav will be announced by BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. Based on the pace of construction witnessed in late 2025, a grand inauguration is expected in the coming 1–2 years. Devotees from across India and the world are eagerly preparing to attend this once-in-a-generation celebration.
